Where the Crawdads Sing

DramaMysteryRomanceThriller126 min

Abandoned as a girl in the marshes of North Carolina, Kya grows up largely alone, learning to survive off the land and studying the wildlife around her until she becomes closely attuned to the place that raised her. The nearby town treats her as an outsider, and the few human connections she allows begin to carry as much risk as comfort. When a local golden boy turns up dead, suspicion falls hard on Kya, and her secluded life is pulled into a murder case. As the trial closes in, the film moves between her hard-won adulthood and the long years that left her isolated, judged, and fighting to be believed.
