After one prank too many, Malibu teenager Poppy is packed off by her fed-up father to a strict boarding school in England. Emma Roberts is Poppy, a sixteen-year-old used to unlimited credit cards, designer clothes, and getting her own way; once she lands at school, those habits crash into dorm rules, old-school discipline, and classmates who have no interest in indulging her. Natasha Richardson’s headmistress keeps the pressure on as Poppy starts plotting her way out, but friendships, rivalries, lacrosse, and an escape plan involving the headmistress’s son make her new life harder to dismiss than she expected.
