Dwayne Johnson looks back on the moments that shape him long before he becomes a global star. The series jumps through his childhood and teens, following a kid growing up in a wrestling family, moving between Hawaii, Pennsylvania, and Miami as he tries to figure out who he is. At home, he deals with a larger-than-life father and a determined mother while the unstable world of pro wrestling keeps the family on edge. At school and on the football field, each new phase brings fresh reinventions, embarrassments, and hard lessons. Framed by an older Johnson recounting it all, the show turns his own legend into a string of awkward, funny origin stories.
