Lyra is an orphan in a parallel world where science, theology, and magic are tightly entwined, and the disappearance of a friend draws her into a plot involving kidnapped children and a mysterious force called Dust. Dafne Keen is Lyra, headstrong and curious as her search widens into questions about her family and her place in something much larger. Later, Amir Wilson's Will enters the story with a knife that can cut windows between worlds, linking their fates as the stakes stretch far beyond one missing child. Airships, witches, and celestial powers shape the series' sprawling fantasy world.
