Honey Boy
Drama94 min
Child actor Otis Lort looks back on the years that shaped him as he tries to reckon with his volatile father and the damage left behind. Lucas Hedges is Otis as a young adult, while the earlier timeline follows young Otis (Noah Jupe) through auditions, motel rooms, and life with a law-breaking, alcohol-abusing ex-rodeo clown father, a role taken by Shia LaBeouf. Loosely based on LaBeouf’s own life, the film moves between Hollywood work and private upheaval as father and son circle each other across a decade.
