Four Daughters

DocumentaryDrama110 min

After her two older daughters disappear, Tunisian mother Olfa Hamrouni sits down with her two younger daughters to reconstruct their family story on camera. Because the missing sisters cannot speak for themselves, professional actresses step into the frame, with Hend Sabri standing in for Olfa and other performers reenacting key moments alongside the family. Interviews and staged scenes fold into each other as memories of rebellion, violence, and sisterhood surface, turning the film into both a portrait of four daughters and a record of how a mother and her children remember what happened.
