An adopted son’s wedding forces long-divorced Don and Ellie Griffin to pretend they’re still married when his ultraconservative Catholic birth mother arrives for the ceremony. Robert De Niro and Diane Keaton carry the uneasy truce at the center, while Ben Barnes’s groom tries to hold the family together and Robin Williams turns up as the priest presiding over the vows. With their adult children, current partners, and wedding guests all in the same house, old resentments and carefully managed stories start crowding into what was supposed to be a straightforward celebration.
