Rent

DramaMusicalRomance135 min

In New York City's East Village, a close-knit group of artists and friends tries to hold onto their work, their apartments and one another as money runs short and the AIDS epidemic reshapes daily life. Anthony Rapp and Adam Pascal are at the center of the circle, with Rosario Dawson and Jesse L. Martin among the lovers, roommates and collaborators moving through the same downtown scene. The songs track overlapping romances, creative ambitions, illness and the pressure to simply pay rent while the group searches for connection and acceptance.
