A boy with a monkey tail and impossible strength lives alone in the wilderness until a search for seven wish-granting Dragon Balls pulls him into a much bigger world. Goku sets out with Bulma, traveling through deserts, villages, and strange kingdoms as rivals, bandits, and would-be conquerors race for the same treasure. What starts as a scavenger hunt keeps turning into something else: rescues, comic disasters, and fights against enemies who are stronger and stranger each time. Along the way, Goku trains under martial-arts masters, enters tournaments, and learns how large the world is beyond his home.
