Naked Lunch

CrimeDramaMystery115 min

Peter Weller is Bill Lee, a part-time exterminator and blocked writer whose habit of getting high on bug powder with Judy Davis’s Joan pushes him out of ordinary life and into Interzone, a shifting underworld of giant insects, conspiracies, and talking typewriters. David Cronenberg turns Bill’s flight into a maze of handlers, coded assignments, and unstable identities, with Ian Holm’s Dr. Benway emerging as one of his more unnerving guides. The line between Bill’s drug use, his writing, and whatever mission he thinks he’s on keeps warping from scene to scene.
