In early-1900s Hanseong, as foreign powers close in and Korea’s future grows uncertain, a group of people are pulled into the fight over who will control the country. At the center is a woman from an aristocratic family, played by Kim Tae-ri, who secretly works with independence activists while living under the rules of a rigid social order. Her path crosses with a man who returns to Korea after years abroad, played by Lee Byung-hun, carrying his own divided loyalties and old wounds. As military pressure, class tensions, and political betrayal tighten around them, private love and public resistance become harder to separate.
