Puberty hits a group of suburban New York middle schoolers like a full-scale invasion, turning crushes, shame, and body horror into literal monsters, ghosts, and nonstop chaos. Nick Kroll voices a fictionalized version of his younger self, one of several friends stumbling through first periods, changing bodies, and wildly unhelpful advice. Maya Rudolph is part of the voice cast surrounding the kids with larger-than-life embodiments of their impulses and anxieties. The show treats adolescence with blunt language, musical detours, and a lot of gross-out detail, keeping its focus on how bewildering early teenage life can feel from the inside.
