At the height of Targaryen rule, the Seven Kingdoms begin to split over who will inherit the Iron Throne. King Viserys names his daughter Rhaenyra as heir, breaking with tradition, and the birth of a son deepens the divisions already forming inside the royal court. Emma D'Arcy is Rhaenyra, holding her place in a dynasty defined by bloodlines and dragons, while Paddy Considine's Viserys presides over a family dispute with consequences for the entire realm. With more than 15 dragons under Targaryen control, every private grievance and political alliance carries the threat of open conflict.
