Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows

ActionAdventureCrimeMystery129 min

Sherlock Holmes faces a new opponent in Professor Moriarty (Jared Harris), a criminal mastermind whose intelligence — and lack of conscience — may give him an edge over the detective. Robert Downey Jr. is Holmes, needling his way through clues and confrontations as Jude Law’s Watson is pulled back into one more investigation just as his personal life starts to change. Their search carries them across 1890s Europe, with Noomi Rapace entering the case as a woman tied to Moriarty’s plans and Stephen Fry turning up as Holmes’s sharp-tongued brother Mycroft. Guy Ritchie’s sequel keeps the focus on Holmes and Watson’s combative partnership as the stakes widen.
