Murder Before Evensong

CrimeDramaMystery45 min per episode

In an English parish where everyone knows one another's routines, a murder shatters the calm and turns private tensions into evidence. The case unfolds inside a close village world of church duties, local gossip, old grievances, and carefully kept secrets, where every conversation may hide a motive. As suspicion moves through neighbors and parishioners, the investigation has to sort genuine grief from performance and longstanding resentments from fresh danger. What begins as a single killing opens onto a wider web of lies, forcing the people at the center of the case to question how well they know the community around them. Based on Richard Coles's novel, the series follows the mystery without rushing past the people caught inside it.
