Once Upon a Time in Anatolia

CrimeDramaThriller163 min

Through a long night on the Anatolian steppe, a doctor (Muhammet Uzuner), a prosecutor (Yılmaz Erdoğan), police officers, and murder suspect Kenan drive from one roadside landmark to the next, trying to recover the body of a murder victim Kenan says he buried while drunk. The search keeps stalling because he cannot quite remember the location, and the men fill the dark hours with talk that drifts from routine banter into personal confession. As headlights sweep over fields, villages, and empty roads, the case becomes tangled with the private histories, doubts, and judgments of the people trying to piece it together.
