The Long Good Friday
CrimeDramaMysteryThriller114 min
A London crime boss is poised to turn his underworld empire into a legitimate fortune through a major waterfront deal. Then, over one holiday weekend, a string of bombings and killings tears through his operations, frightens his American backers, and turns a show of strength into a scramble for control. As he hunts for whoever is attacking his business, every meeting points toward betrayal, and the violence exposes links between gang money, politics, and the city’s institutions. Bob Hoskins centers the film as a man trying to keep his grip while his partner, played by Helen Mirren, watches the cracks spread.
