Struggling to keep his drought-hit ranch alive in late-1800s Arizona, Civil War veteran Dan Evans agrees to escort captured outlaw Ben Wade to the 3:10 train to Yuma, where Wade can be taken to trial. Christian Bale is Evans, a rancher desperate enough to take a job no one wants, while Russell Crowe's Wade remains cool and unreadable even in chains. As the small posse moves across hostile territory, Wade's gang stays close behind, and every stop — from rough towns to open country — threatens to turn the handoff into a gunfight.
