A Good Year
ComedyDramaRomance118 min
Russell Crowe is Max Skinner, a London banker who inherits his late uncle’s vineyard in Provence, where he spent his childhood summers and expects to settle the estate quickly. Once he arrives, the place begins to pull old memories to the surface, with Albert Finney at the center of those earlier years as the uncle who shaped them. Max’s plans get more complicated when a California woman, played by Abbie Cornish, turns up claiming she’s his long-lost cousin and rightful heir. Ridley Scott frames the French countryside, the crumbling chateau, and the vineyard as Max is forced to reckon with what the property means to him now.
