Dishonored

DramaRomanceWar91 min

During World War I, the Austrian Secret Service recruits a widow living on the margins and turns her into X-27, a spy sent to charm information out of Russian officers. Marlene Dietrich is the agent at the center of Josef von Sternberg’s pre-Code intrigue, moving through cabarets, uniforms, and coded messages with a singer’s poise and a spy’s instinct for disguise. Her assignment shifts when Victor McLaglen’s hard-drinking Russian colonel proves harder to read than the men she usually traps, pulling the mission toward a tense contest of seduction, suspicion, and divided loyalties.
