Sick of Myself

ComedyDramaHorror97 min

Kristine Kujath Thorp is Signe, a young woman in Oslo who can’t stand being eclipsed when her boyfriend suddenly becomes a name in the city’s art scene. Thomas, Eirik Sæther’s smug furniture thief turned contemporary artist, draws attention with sculptures made from stolen pieces, and Signe answers by reinventing herself through an increasingly extreme bid for sympathy and fame. Their relationship becomes a petty, escalating contest for status inside a circle of artists, critics, and hangers-on. What begins as social rivalry keeps pushing into uglier territory, with narcissism and self-destruction driving the comedy toward body horror.
