The Prom
ComedyDramaMusicalRomance132 min
Emma Nolan wants to take her girlfriend to prom, but when an Indiana high school’s PTA bans same-sex couples from attending, a local dispute turns into something much bigger. Jo Ellen Pellman is Emma, the teenager at the center of the uproar as a pack of Broadway performers descends on town, eager to attach themselves to her cause and repair their own public image. Meryl Streep and James Corden lead the visiting theater crowd, while the story shifts between small-town politics, teen romance, and stage-sized musical numbers built around a night that was supposed to be simple.
