Restrepo

DocumentaryWar93 min

Embedded with Battle Company’s Second Platoon in Afghanistan’s Korengal Valley, Restrepo follows a U.S. Army unit holding a remote outpost in one of the war’s most dangerous areas. The men of the 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment are seen on patrol, in sudden gunfights, and in the long stretches of waiting and radio chatter between them, as exhaustion and routine take hold. After the loss of platoon medic Juan “Doc” Restrepo, the soldiers name the outpost after him, and the film keeps its focus on the work, dependence, and grief that shape life inside the platoon.
