Roxanne
ComedyRomance107 min
Steve Martin is C.D. Bales, the quick-witted fire chief of a small Pacific Northwest town whose oversized nose keeps him from pursuing Roxanne Kowalski, an astronomy student newly arrived in town. When Daryl Hannah’s Roxanne falls for handsome firefighter Chris McConnell instead, C.D. ends up supplying the words Chris can’t find himself. Martin’s update of Cyrano de Bergerac keeps the classic setup of romantic longing and borrowed eloquence, placing it in a small-town world of firehouse banter, public embarrassment, and rooftop stargazing.
