Pad Man
ComedyDrama140 min
After seeing how hard menstruation makes life for the women around him, a small-town welder in India becomes determined to build an inexpensive sanitary pad machine. Akshay Kumar is the inventor at the center of the story, pushing his idea forward in the face of stigma around a subject rarely discussed in public. Radhika Apte is his wife, part of the household and community drawn into the upheaval his work creates, and Sonam Kapoor enters as one of the people who helps carry his effort beyond the village. Inspired by the life of Arunachalam Muruganantham, the film turns grassroots invention into social change.
