Mystic Pizza
ComedyDramaRomance104 min
In coastal Mystic, Connecticut, three Portuguese-American waitresses spend the summer after high school juggling romance, family expectations, and the question of whether to stay or leave their small town. Julia Roberts is Daisy Araujo, the bold younger sister of Annabeth Gish’s more sensible Kat; their wisecracking friend Jojo (Lili Taylor) is caught between marriage and independence. Working the counter at Mystic Pizza, the three friends share breakups, flirtations, and plans for what comes next, while adulthood starts to press in from all sides.
