Cyrano de Bergerac

ComedyDramaRomance137 min

In 17th-century France, famed swordsman and poet Cyrano de Bergerac is fearless in public but unable to confess his love for his cousin Roxane, convinced that his large nose makes him unworthy. Gérard Depardieu is Cyrano, carrying himself with swagger until love leaves him tongue-tied, while Anne Brochet's Roxane becomes the center of his carefully guarded devotion. Unable to speak plainly, Cyrano looks for a way to reach her indirectly, turning wit, verse and a duelist's bravado into the language of a courtly romance.
