After robot fighters take over the boxing world, Hugh Jackman is Charlie Kenton, a washed-up ex-boxer turned hustling promoter, scraping by on low-end bots and bad bets. When his latest machine is destroyed, Charlie reluctantly reconnects with his estranged son, Dakota Goyo's Max, and the two put their hopes on an abandoned robot they rebuild from the ground up. As they move from rough underground matches toward bigger arenas, the film folds father-son friction into a near-future sports world of scrap metal, showmanship, and towering machines trading blows in the ring.
