Scott, a blunt U.S. operative who gets results by ignoring protocol, is assigned to recover the kidnapped daughter of a high-ranking government official. Val Kilmer is the hard-edged agent at the center of the search, with Derek Luke alongside him as a younger recruit learning how ruthless the job can get. As the investigation moves through military compounds, hotel rooms, and government back channels, the rescue mission starts to look entangled with political self-preservation at the highest levels. Written and directed by David Mamet, the film keeps its attention on procedure, coded language, and the pressure inside a system built to protect itself.
