The Dressmaker

ComedyDramaWestern119 min

After years in Paris fashion houses, Tilly Dunnage returns to her tiny 1950s Australian hometown with a sewing machine, a damaged past, and unfinished business. Kate Winslet is Tilly, sweeping back into a place that still treats her with suspicion, while Judy Davis’s Molly—her sharp-tongued, unstable mother—turns their reunion into its own battle. As Tilly begins remaking the town’s women in striking couture, she also starts a tentative romance with Teddy (Liam Hemsworth). Dusty outback streets, old grudges, and black-comic payback sit side by side as Tilly stitches glamour into a community that never forgot her.
