Waltz with Bashir

AnimationDocumentaryDramaMysteryWar90 min

Ari Folman, an Israeli filmmaker and veteran, starts interviewing former comrades after an old friend’s nightmares reopen a troubling gap in his own memory of the 1982 invasion of Lebanon. Through animated conversations with fellow veterans, including Ori Sivan, he pieces together fragments of patrols, dreams, and the events leading toward the Sabra and Shatila massacre. Folman’s documentary tells its story through drawn imagery rather than conventional archival footage, moving between memory, testimony, and wartime disorientation as he searches for what he saw—and what he has forgotten.
