Brendan Fraser is Adam Webber, a man raised in a fallout shelter after a 1960s bomb scare sends his parents underground for what they think will be a short stay. Thirty-five years later, Adam emerges into Los Angeles with a polite, old-fashioned worldview shaped by Perry Como records, black-and-white TV, and strict family rules, plus a mission to find supplies and a wife. Out in the city, Alicia Silverstone’s Eve becomes his guide to a world of clubs, traffic, and dating that makes no sense to him at all. Christopher Walken and Sissy Spacek are Adam’s deeply committed shelter-dwelling parents.
