House of Flying Daggers

ActionAdventureDramaRomance119 min

In 9th-century China, a government officer is sent to infiltrate the rebel House of Flying Daggers by freeing a woman suspected of ties to the group. Takeshi Kaneshiro is the operative gambling that a staged escape will lead him to the resistance, while Ziyi Zhang is the elusive prisoner pulled between danger, desire, and divided loyalties. As the chase moves through Tang dynasty brothels, bamboo forests, and sudden bursts of combat, the mission grows knottier and less certain, with deception shaping nearly every encounter. Directed by Zhang Yimou, the film threads wuxia action through court intrigue and romance.
