The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar

ActionAdventureComedyDramaFamilyFantasy40 min

Henry Sugar is a wealthy gambler who comes across the account of a yogi able to see without using his eyes, and decides to learn the skill for himself. Benedict Cumberbatch is Henry, chasing an edge at the card table as the film moves through stories within stories and direct-to-camera narration. Ralph Fiennes threads through the tale’s shifting layers as one of its on-screen storytellers. In the 1930s, Wes Anderson surrounds Henry’s scheme with casino tables, strict training, and deliberately theatrical staging, turning Roald Dahl’s tale of wealth, discipline, and cheating chance into a compact, self-aware fable.
