Rushmore
ComedyDramaRomance93 min
At Rushmore Academy, tenth-grader Max Fischer is the school’s busiest extracurricular impresario and one of its worst students. Jason Schwartzman is Max, a confident, chronically overcommitted teenager whose crush on first-grade teacher Rosemary Cross (Olivia Williams) pulls him into an unlikely friendship with Bill Murray’s Herman Blume, a wealthy father at the school. When Herman develops feelings for Rosemary too, Max’s campaign to win her attention turns the friendship into a petty, escalating rivalry. Wes Anderson’s second feature centers prep-school ambition, adolescent longing, and adults who are no more settled than the kids around them.
