In 1985, climbers Joe Simpson and Simon Yates make the first successful ascent of the West Face of Siula Grande in the Peruvian Andes, then face disaster on the way back down. An injury high on the mountain turns their descent into a fight to survive, with the pair trapped by altitude, weather, and the brutal logic of the rope between them. As Joe’s condition worsens, each decision carries life-or-death consequences for both men. Re-enactments with Brendan Mackey and Nicholas Aaron are woven with the climbers’ own accounts, following how a landmark ascent becomes an ordeal of isolation, endurance, and impossible choices.
