Spies Like Us
ActionAdventureComedy102 min
Two low-level government employees are plucked from desk jobs and pushed into intelligence work with almost no training. Sent toward the Soviet Union as novice agents, they stumble through briefings, surveillance, and field missions they barely understand, while bigger forces in Washington treat them as expendable pieces in a dangerous operation. What begins as a farce about two unqualified men in over their heads keeps colliding with Cold War brinkmanship, as their mistakes put them closer to actual international trouble than anyone intended. Chevy Chase and Dan Aykroyd play the mismatched pair at the center of a mission that grows more serious even as they keep bungling their way through it.
