White Christmas

ComedyMusicalRomance120 min

After the war, two song-and-dance veterans turn themselves into a successful act, then join forces with the Haynes sisters on a trip to a Vermont ski lodge. Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye lead the quartet, with Rosemary Clooney and Vera-Ellen as the sister act that brings romance into the mix. What starts with backstage comedy and Irving Berlin numbers, including “White Christmas,” takes a more personal turn when the men discover the inn is run by their former army general (Dean Jagger), who’s struggling to keep the place going through the holidays.
