A Man Escaped

DramaThrillerWar101 min

In Nazi-occupied Lyon, a captured French Resistance fighter begins quietly engineering his escape from prison, turning scraps of time and the simplest tools into a plan. François Leterrier is the inmate at the center, watching guards, studying doors, and working piece by piece with rope, a spoon, and patience. Inspired by the account of an imprisoned Resistance leader, the film stays close to the routines of confinement and the exacting logic of escape, while the prison’s silence, ritual, and constant surveillance give the story a severe spiritual pressure.
