The Kerala Story
Drama138 min
From an Afghanistan jail, a young woman recounts how her life in Kerala shifted from plans to become a nurse to abduction, coercive religious conversion, and recruitment into ISIS. Adah Sharma is the former student at the center of the story, which follows several women from Kerala as they are pressured into the same network. Siddhi Idnani, Yogita Bihani, and Sonia Balani appear among the other young women whose paths intersect as the film moves between college life, manipulation, and captivity. Framed through testimony, the story ties personal ordeal to the religious and political tensions surrounding it.
