In a ramshackle countryside house, the Flowers family keeps trying to function while everything underneath them sags. Maurice, a writer of children’s books, sinks into severe depression just as his marriage to Deborah grows brittle and suspicious. Their adult twins drift between dependence and resentment, and the household’s live-in illustrator, Shun, is pulled into the family’s private fractures. Small humiliations, misread intentions, and buried pain turn ordinary moments into crises. What begins as domestic disorder keeps sharpening into something sadder and stranger, as each member of the family struggles to be seen without knowing how to speak plainly.
