After a witch’s spell ruins his wedding plans, Jean Reno’s Count Thibault seeks out a wizard to set things right, only to be hurled from 12th-century France into the year 2000 with his valet André (Christian Clavier). Stranded in modern Chicago, Thibault stumbles into cars, phones, and corporate life while searching for a way home. He also meets Julia, a descendant who looks uncannily like his lost bride, with Christina Applegate pulling double duty across the knight’s past and present-day confusion. Medieval manners and turn-of-the-millennium America collide as Thibault tries to undo the damage and return to his own century.
