Ben is a serial killer who invites a documentary crew to shadow his daily routine, turning murder, theft, and body disposal into matter-of-fact conversation. Benoît Poelvoorde is Ben, a vain, funny, unsettling host who riffs on music, poverty, and his own methods as if he’s giving a tour of the neighborhood. As the filmmakers keep recording, their role shifts from detached observers to willing participants, and the camera follows Ben from cramped apartments to family visits without looking away. This 1992 Belgian mockumentary uses that setup to blur the line between subject, filmmaker, and accomplice.
