Nell

DramaThriller112 min

After a death in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, small-town doctor Jerome Lovell discovers Nell, an adult woman who has grown up isolated in a woodland cabin and speaks in a language of her own. Jodie Foster is Nell, guarded and difficult to reach at first, while Liam Neeson’s Lovell becomes increasingly responsible for what happens when officials begin weighing whether she should be taken from the only world she knows. Natasha Richardson joins the case as a psychologist asked to assess her. The film centers on those early attempts at communication, with the surrounding forest and lake shaping Nell’s entire sense of home.
