Mothers' Instinct

DramaThriller94 min

In an idyllic early-1960s suburb, best friends and next-door neighbors Alice and Celine seem to have built matching lives around manicured lawns, attentive husbands, and young sons the same age. Jessica Chastain is Alice, whose bond with Celine starts to fray after a tragic accident upends both households. As grief settles in, Anne Hathaway’s Celine becomes harder to read, and ordinary gestures take on the shape of accusation. What begins as shared loss turns into a tense contest of guilt, suspicion, and maternal fear, with the women’s polished domestic world giving way to paranoia.
