The Shipping News
DramaRomance111 min
After a shattering loss, an emotionally battered father leaves upstate New York and takes his young daughter to his family’s old home in a small fishing village in Newfoundland. The move is meant to be a refuge, but the place is full of hard weather, old grudges, and relatives who carry their own scars. As he tries to make a life there, he finds work at the local newspaper and is drawn into the town’s routines, secrets, and shipwreck stories. Kevin Spacey and Julianne Moore are folded into a story about a man learning, cautiously, how to belong somewhere and how to rebuild a family from what remains.
