Enemy

DramaMysteryThriller91 min

A withdrawn history professor discovers his exact double in a minor movie role and starts prying into the actor’s private life. Jake Gyllenhaal holds both sides of the split, with Adam Bell’s drab routine colliding with the more guarded life of actor Anthony Clair. As Adam’s relationship with Mary (Mélanie Laurent) frays, the fixation turns invasive, pulling both men into a tangle of secrecy, infidelity, and mounting paranoia. Directed by Denis Villeneuve, Enemy keeps its classrooms, apartments, and anonymous city streets under a yellowed, dreamlike haze, with recurring symbols that make the resemblance feel less like coincidence than a threat.
