During World War II, Chris Evans is Steve Rogers, a frail kid from Brooklyn who volunteers for a secret military experiment and emerges as Captain America. Hayley Atwell's Peggy Carter is the sharp British officer at his side as Steve moves from training rooms and stage shows into combat. The story frames Captain America as a wartime origin, with military adventure, retro-futurist technology, and the early foundations of the Marvel universe.
