Patch Adams

ComedyDramaRomance115 min

In the 1970s, Robin Williams is Hunter “Patch” Adams, a medical student who decides that jokes, costumes, and direct human connection belong in the hospital right alongside medicine. Based on a true story, the film follows Patch as his unorthodox way with patients brings comfort to children and adults while putting him at odds with professors and administrators who see him as a problem. Monica Potter and Philip Seymour Hoffman are part of the medical-school world around him as Patch tries to hold onto his ideals without losing his place in the profession.
