Locked away in a convent by her family to keep her from her lover, Lucita secretly plans an escape with Esteban, only for the scheme to collapse when he is accused of heresy. Jenny Tamburi is the young woman trapped behind the walls, while Françoise Prévost's Sister Incarnation presides over the convent with religious authority and open corruption. As Esteban hides inside the institution to reach Lucita, the abbess's abuses and the looming arrival of an inquisitor turn the cloister into a place of punishment, fear, and forbidden desire.
